When Warner Bros. acquired Midway in a bankruptcy sale, Warner Bros. also acquired some of the assets alongside the acquisition. One of those assets was Mortal Kombat, which they released to critical acclaim, and fans ate it up. They also acquired many trademarks, many franchises, and the next franchise they’d like to re-visit is none other than the legendary Gauntlet games.
The game is is currently a PC-only title. No word if the game will be ported to consoles. But I find this a very odd choice of being a PC-only title; Gauntlet has always been known to be an arcade blockbuster, however the series has been ported to many home-consoles around the world.
The game takes place in a mysterious, dark and gritty world. It sports 2 to 4 player co-op, and online multiplayer. The game ships to Steam this summer.
